Goldwave 5.57 can’t open MP3 files

Hello, experts!

I am a PC user with Windows 7 32-bit OS. I am currently using Goldwave 5.57 to keep files in MP3 format. However, an error message keeps appearing whenever I try to open the same MP3 files. The pop up window says:

"The program can't start because MFPlat.DLL is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

I relocated the LAME encoder files in the ~Program FilesGoldwave folder but nothing happened.

Can you, guys, help me? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Please try the following to resolve the error message you are getting:

  1. Make sure that you have the Media Feature Pack for Windows 7.  To check this, just open the Windows Media Player.
  2. Make sure also that you have the update “KB968211” on your computer.  If you don’t have it, please try to install it from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16546.
  3. If the issue persists, try to run the “sfc/scannow” command under the command prompt (make sure though that you are the administrator of your computer to do this)
  4. If you are still getting the same error message, try to repair your Windows installation.
