OS Update Problem of Blackberry Playbook

I am using Blackberry Playbook with Blackberry Playbook OS 1.2. Recently Blackberry launches Playbook OS 2.1 Beta. Though it is Beta Version, is it safe to update to OS 2.1? How can I get updated?

OS Update Problem of Blackberry Playbook

It should be safe to update from blackberry playbook O.S 1.2 to blackberry playbook O.S 2.1 beta version, I mean in theory it should be safe. I personally haven't tried it myself but we have been skipping steps before and getting normal results with it.
I also researched but I could not find any post or article that posted some problem in it. I hope it works for you if you try it.

OS Update Problem of Blackberry Playbook

No, you should wait for the final version to be released. Anything beta is unstable so it is really not recommended to go with a beta version. It is designed for beta testers only for bug discovery. This is the phase in the development where beta testers explore the application or operating system to discover different sorts of errors and problems.

The errors and problems found will then be sent to the developer for solutions. The next release of the program or system contains all the fixes for the previous errors and will still be in beta version until it is declared to be final or stable. It normally takes time before a developer declares a program or system to be stable depending on the current errors received or discovered.

When beta testers no longer find problems with the program or system, that’s the only time it can be released as final version or stable version. So, since you are asking about a beta version of the BlackBerry mobile operating system, it is very unsafe to upgrade your device with it.

Update your phone’s operating system to beta only if you want to help discover problems or if you are a beta tester.
