Outlook Express Shows ‘socket Error: 10061 Error Number 0x800CCC0E’?!

I was checking my mail on outlook express through my ISP and can not connect to the server. It shows an error saying ‘can not connect to server’. The exact error is ‘socket error: 10061 error number 0x800CCC0E’. How can I fix it?

Outlook Express Shows ‘socket Error: 10061 Error Number 0x800CCC0E’?!

This means that “TCP connection has failed to that server.” By this, you can never access the same simply through PC. Now you need to prompt command ‘C:\> telnet your_IMAP_server 143’. After getting proper response, you can type ‘x’ to logout and then you can restart the application to get working. If you still can not access the same then a firewall maybe blocking you from the server or it may happen due to improper installation as well.
