Hi, I want to upgrade Domain Controller to Server 2012 R2, but I am unaware of the steps to do it. How can I achieve this?
Ways To Upgrade Domain Controller To Windows Server 2012.
You have to promote the DCs to run newer versions of Windows Server or demote them. After verifying all the requirements, join the Server 2012 to an existing domain. Promote Server 2012 R2 as the Domain Controller and transfer all the FSMO roles to the new Server 2012 R2 DC. Similarly, you can add other Servers with the same procedure. You can also try demoting to Server 2008 if you want.
