Netbook Charger problem using alternative chargers

Hello To all,

I have my netbook from Acer eMachines.

Using my net book normally, I can have about 1 hour and 45 minutes of use when using its own battery and after that I have to recharge again. I have two chargers, one is specifically provided for my netbook and the other is for an Acer laptop (not a netbook), Upon alternatively using both chargers,

I had noticed that when I use the charger for the Acer laptop and when my notebook battery is fully charge I can have about 2 hours and 30 minutes of battery life (sometimes it reached 3 hours).

Well my question is this, Is it safe to use the Acer charger?

Good Day Peter,

• Yes, it is safe to use as long as the output voltage must be the same and the amperage could be the same or higher than on the original power adapter (please take note of this rule).
• Example: output: 19V & 1.56A (netbook charger)
• Output: 19V & 1.58A (Laptop charger)
• However it is very important to use the right adapter to your Netbook and Laptop because chargers have a different power supply specification and you must consider the wattage, voltage, amperage, size and shape of the connector (adapter tip) and polarity.

Netbook Charger problem using alternative chargers

Using non-OEM battery is safe to use. The only difference using this kind of battery is the compatibility. Your computer might need a chip inside and an AC adapter to keep the batter running, working and not gets burned out easily.

You just need to make sure that the battery you're installing in your laptop is the right fit and the right one. It is always advisable to use the original batter provided by the laptop manufacturer than using a 3rd party battery for 1 main reason, safety and usage.

What you will need to watch out for is if the battery is in low type of quality. This might overheat and overcharged and might cause more trouble. Much worse, might burn and damaged some internal devices inside. But I doubt this had happened more often, maybe the percentage is low 1:500 laptop gets damaged caused by the battery.

 

So, my answer to your question is YES!
