Abnormal keyboard accessing problem of my desktop pc

I have a P-IV desktop PC. When I start my Desktop PC sometimes the keyboard which is PS-2 is not working. But at this point when I shut down the PC and start it again then it works. What is the problem? Anybody give me a solution.

• The problem which you have mentioned is a very weird problem and it really disturbs a lot. Anyhow its known issue with PS-2 port, sometimes your port is defected and it stops working so you face a dead keyboard and you have to restart your system to enable your port to start detecting your keyboard.
• You haven’t mentioned about your Operating system, however for your information PS-2 are outdated for Windows XP and they don’t work perfectly with it.
• These days the most popular keyboards are USB Keyboards which have compatibility with modern devices and have not much problem. Change your Keyboard for better results.

This is a port problem check the pins of your keyboard male plug and make them fix. If you can convert the port to USB port by using PS-2 to USB converter then it will be the good solution in your case. Check that you have configured the port correctly as you are using keyboard port for keyboard and mouse port for mouse. Also check your keyboard on another computer so that you make sure that problem is in your keyboard not in your PC. If the problem is in your PC then you can use PS-2 to USB converter to solve the problem. Check that you don't require any driver updates for your ports. You can check the drivers under device manager and make sure you have installed drivers for ports of keyboard and mouse are they configured accurately. Check for your cables of your keyboard and also check the motherboard to solve the problem.
