Lightroom Catalog was Corrupted After it Crashed

I have a problem with my Adobe Lightroom 2.7. I am running it with my OS X 10.6 and it crashed while I am choosing a photo. So I forced close it and restarted the program. But upon opening I was notified with an error:

Corrupt Catalog Detected

The Lightroom catalog "lightroom_catalog" is corrupt and cannot be used or backed up until it is repaired.

A message with further instructions will be displayed when the repair process is complete.

How can I fix it? None of the buttons on the error message works for me. Thanks in advance.

Because the program crashed, it suffered a major damage in its files corrupting the catalog. Forced closing the application has nothing to do with the data corruption because in the first place, even before you closed it, it already crashed. But since the dialog box that appeared right after you restarted your computer provides an option to repair it, go try clicking the Repair Catalog button.

It should fix the problem most of the time. If it doesn’t, you need to reinstall Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.7. Uninstall it, restart your computer, clean your drive for temporary files, and install Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. When I checked the specifications of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, I learned that your operating system is on the edge of the supported platforms but still it is officially supported.

The supported operating systems for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.7 for Mac start from Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger until Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. You are pretty much on the limit. In case you’ll be upgrading to Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and higher, you will need to upgrade to a higher version of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom because this version will no longer run.
