How to connect a MacBook Air to network?

I have a home network and need this connected with other systems.

I have a router that's not wireless.

How to connect a MacBook Air to network?

MacBook Air does not have onboard Ethernet port. Since your router does not have wireless access point then the only thing to do is to buy the apple usb ethernet adapter. Check if Airport is turned off when network cable is plugged in. This would prevent odd issues that would come out. Plugging in the network cable would automatically connect you to the network. But if you find issues, use the Network Setup Assistant application. To load the Network Setup Assistant, open System Preferences, click Network, and then click Assist me.

How to connect a MacBook Air to network?

You cannot connect your MacBook Air to a non-wireless router because the computer doesn’t have a network port on the side like other laptops do. A MacBook Air, either the 11-inch or the 13-inch, has two USB 3.0 ports, Thunderbolt port, MagSafe 2 power port, SDXC card slot [for the 13-inch MacBook Air only], 802.11ac IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology.

So at these specifications you are obviously not allowed to have a wired connection because all of the features provided are wireless. But these features don’t restrict you from connecting to a network. You can still connect to a network but it should also be a wireless network. Since MacBook Air provides USB 3.0 ports, you can use a USB Wi-Fi adapter like this NETGEAR N300 Wireless-N USB adapter. See image.
