Corel Painter Essentials 4 Fails to install on Mac

Hello All,

I am trying to download and install the Corel Painter Essentials 4 on my new Bamboo CTH-670. I find that the download completes without any problem. But I cannot install the application using this downloaded exe file. When I attempt running the setup file, it shows the first screen preparing to install and then as soon as I click on the Install button it gives me following error message. The complete error message is shown in the attached screenshot below. I thought this might be a problem with installer and I tried downloading from a different link. But I still get this error when trying to install. I am using Mac OS X 10.8.5 on my machine and as far as I know, all the software installed on this machine is up to date. And now I am wondering if this is a compatibility issue. Can someone please help me spot the trouble in this installation? Many thanks for your help.

Try reinstalling the application. Uninstall it first, restart your computer, and install it again. For users who are new to Mac OS X, removing a program is done in a very easy way. Just go to the Applications folder and delete the program’s folder. Another way is via the desktop. If the application has an icon in the desktop, just move or drag the icon to the Trash and the uninstallation process will start.

But in case you are not the administrator or you are only using a standard limited user account that doesn’t have administrator rights, if you do this the computer might prompt you for the administrator username and the password. Just enter the administrator username and its password to continue. Once the program is removed, restart your computer and install it again.

If the program works fine before and the error happens just now, reinstalling should fix the problem. If not even after installing it back, try updating your operating system. Installing the update normally fixes system errors. Click on the Apple menu and select Software Update. The next screen will show the available update. Just install it and restart your computer. Try opening the program again and see what happens.
