An error when opening Program of Microsoft Excel

I had a problem regarding my Microsoft Excel program.

I had from Odesk that should need to use Excel for the data that been gathered.

When I'm trying to open the program an error shows up stating data may have been lost.

Now I feel frustrated since I can't have the job for now since my Excel isn't working.

Please help me.

An error when opening Program of Microsoft Excel

Hello,

The causes of the problem when using a different version of Excel. Check if you're using an old version of Excel and trying to open with a 2007 or 2010 version. You may update the Microsoft Excel that suits the older version like 2003.

If file of Excel that must have been used from any job which is the version of 2007 and 2010, please see to it that this file is save in 97 – 2003 format for compatibility purposes from the one you currently use.

By doing this in case you don't know how to save it manually; click the upper button as the ''office button'' then select ''save as''. Move then to the menu of saving copy of the document and select Excel 97 – 2003 workbook.

Now, you can open the latest version.

An error when opening Program of Microsoft Excel

 

I also got the same problem few days back and while I was googling it I found the following:

 

• Click Start, click on Search, and after that click on Files or Folders.

 

• In the Search box, type Excel.exe.

 

• In the Look in list, hit “My Computer”, and then hit “Search Now”.

 

• When Excel.exe file is found, double-hit the found file to start Microsoft Excel.

 

In addition: The default location for the Excel.exe depends on the version you are using.

 

• MS Office Excel 2003 C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice11

 

• MS Excel 2002 C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice10

 

• MS Excel 2000 C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice

 

• MS Office Excel 2007 C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice12

An error when opening Program of Microsoft Excel

It might be possible that there will be some error in file which has been open  or it might also be possible that you MS excel has corrupted,

  Try to open another excel file if it will open then there is some problem in that file if it is not then your excel is corrupted.

Try to reinstall the MS office  and use it.
