Does windows 8 have Virus protection program?

I am currently using windows 7 but I have heard that if Windows 8 comes with a virus protection program. Is it true and if yes, how effective is it?

Hi there, 

Windows 8 comes with a slogan that it never hangs, Maybe a rumor but after using the Windows 8 developers preview and consumers preview, I felt an awesome feeling of security. A kind of invisible securitY. 

It comes with Windows Defender Latest. 

– Windows firewall.

– New updater for updating essential components. 

– Better User control and Authentication system. 

– New architecture (Internal).

– Additional security components from Microsoft can also be added for added security.

I personally Recommends Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. It works great. It catches almost all the viruses and also very smooth to operate. What problem kaspersky has till its 2011 versions was slow updates. Now they have solved the problem.

 

Go try download the trial version and try it for 30 days and if and only if you liked then buy the license for 1 year.

Hi Frank,

And generally windows 8 is similar to windows 7 and in a simple way it can be described as the child of windows 7 with all features of 7 and additional features are added and called it as windows 8.

Coming to the protection it also will be same but there will be added some extra features in which high protection may be provided when compared with the version 7.

It might be true because the updating of the older version must be done to get better response than the older one to the newer version.

Hence with no doubts the performance will be best when compared with the 7 version with different types of programs will be added to an existing version.

Does windows 8 have Virus protection program?

If you have tried the developer or consumer preview you would see it to your self. But Third party antivirus program is always better.

Kaspersky worked great for me, but it would be good if Windows 8 had its in-house antivirus program. Thank you all for your insights!
