Hello,

I have experienced a great problem recently. When I tried to open my pen drive using double click, it shows me Explorer and tells me to select the program to run it.

But I can browse it by pressing right click and then selecting the Explore button. I don’t understand the problem.

I formatted it and it showed me the same problem.

What do I do?

Thanks.

I think you have some registry problem. Sometimes, few registries added in your system can cause it to refuse to open your pen drive using double click. So, you have to edit your Registry.

At first, you have to start Run from the menu. Then, type regedit in the Run window. Then, it will open the Registry Editor. You have to select hkey_current_user. After that, select software, then Microsoft. You have to select windowscurrentversionexplorermountpoints2. From there you have to delete all the subkeys. That’s all you have to do.

After that, eject your pen drive and insert it again. You can open your pen drive by double clicking now.

First of all, this problem is either caused by a Malware in your system or some other system you’ve connected your pen drive to.

You should first check your system, using an Antivirus program. Then, go to your Pen drive and from "Organize", open "Folder and search" options.

There, on "View" tab, select "show hidden files" and uncheck "hide protected system files". Then, remove anything suspicious in the drive, specially any autorun.inf. It should solve the problem.

If it doesn't solve this problem, then you should backup the important data on the pen drive and then format it. This is most likely to solve the problem.
