How to Save Lotus Notes Email

Hello,

How do I save a lotus notes email to my workstation?

Any file format will be fine ,as long as it will still look as it is in the email. Not just plain text ,but everything in it, sender, recipient, images, subject and content of mail, attachment images, date and time of mail.

Better if file format is commonly used. I need this to save some email threads for documentation purposes.

Please help.

How to Save Lotus Notes Email

Unfortunately there is no such option provided by Notes to save your individual HTML messages. But don’t be afraid there are some other options you can try to save messages in your workstation.  

1. Go to File > Export . Here you can save your emails as .txt or .rtf format.  The formatting is frequently maintained. 

2. Outlook express would allow you to open (MIME only) messages in eml format, so you can save emails in eml format.

3. You can save all the attachments and formatting as it is.

        Step 1: Go to View > Show > Page Source

        Step2: Copy the content of the page source into the clipboard

        Step3: Go to any text editor and Paste it and save with the file extension .eml

Hello,

Lotus Notes emails cannot be saved, straightforwardly, into your local computer still maintaining its format.

But here are some options you can do to save those emails.

1. You can "Archive" your messages and save it on your local computer. But with this, you would still be needing access to lotus notes.
2. You can export your lotus notes email as txt or rtf document. With this, format of your emails are not maintained and also the attachments would not be included.
3. You can save emails as eml messages and open it using Outlook Express.

How to Save Lotus Notes Email

Hi,

• In case you're looking for a way to be able to read as well as respond to email off-line, then you will just need to create a local replica of your database. In order to read your messages, you will still need to have a notes client software, and unless you turn off local encryption when creating the local replica, you will have to utilize your Notes ID in order to access the messages.
• If you want to create a local replica of your mail database,  you will need to open your mail file and then choose  File > Replication > New Replica.
• The default place to save the file will be the local Notes data directory, but you can go ahead and browse a different location.
