I have NeroUltraEdition8 compressed in a .RAR file There are four files with two keygenerator, part one and part two of that Nero. But when I opened them one by one using Winrar, its display error Read error. When I click OK, it shows data-redundancy. But when I used it to other .rar files it execute smoothly. What do you think is the problem and how can I resolve it?

Winrar is a good software archive extractor. When it says you an “error in reading the file”. It means that whatever file that you wanted to extract is corrupted or is not proper. So, better to download the software whatever you want to install from an authenticated source rather than from any unauthenticated source.

Winrar works for almost all the archived files. Whenever it shows any error it’s may not be the fault of winrar. There is almost all possibility that your file is only corrupted. Just need to check whether your files are authentic or not.

There might be two reasons for the "READ ERROR" message:

1. The downloaded file might be corrupted or some files in it may be broken

2. The download might be incomplete

Try out the following two method that might help you to solve your issue

Method 1:

Step1 : Right click the rar file and select 'Extract files…' option

step 2: in the window that opens select destination path and check mark the 'Keep broken files' check box

this method will extract all the files even if it is broken.

Method 2:

Instead of opening the archive by right clicking it.and extract try double clicking it or opening the RAR application and browse for the file to be extracted.

Select the file that needs to be extracted and click the REPAIR toolbar

It will create the repaired file with rebuild prefix. try extracting the repaired file.

It will extract the file smoothly.

If both the method doesn't work for you then you have to redownload the file and make sure that you download from the trusted website.
