Facebook recently launched pages manager, a page management application for iOS devices (iPhones and iPads).

Which will amazingly useful for small business holders and active owners and managers who doesn’t stay close to their laptop or desktop most of the time of the workday.

But its only for Apple! What about Android?

When and how the Android users will get the benefit of this application?

GC2012,

Hello,

Facebook launched the new app Facebook Pages Manager in the month of May that lets people manage their Facebook pages from their iPhone. The new app requires iOS 4.2 or later.

As of now, the Android users, cannot use this feature unless they are very voracious and wish to use a third-party app named as Mobile Page Manager, which has not been updated for a long time from August 2011. Now a days, in general, Facebook pages are becoming increasingly important in the social world and the business world.

It is always an issue and problem to manage the Facebook Pages on Android. Android Facebook versions are constantly trying to compete with iPhone app. But still was unable to reach the competency rating of iPhone for years and years. Even the web interface i. e. https://m.facebook.com/ site is unable to satisfy the Android users much. Through https://touch.facebook.com/ site pages can be viewed and commented, but still with limitation to use only text and links.

A few third party tools interacting with Facebook are detailed as below:

1. Posterous – It is a simple blogging platform but it has great ability to auto-post to many other platforms. It supports Facebook pages. If an email is sent with photos, video or links etc attached it will push the media onto relevant chosen sites such as YouTube, Flickr, Delicious, WordPress, and many other social networking sites.

The problem found here was that the Posterous app should be installed on your Facebook profile to get the the right permissions. Also the posting options on Posterous are different from the ones found for a Facebook profile and only results in showing up as a thumbnail on the wall.

2. Hootsuite – Hootsuite is a social media tool which can share only text and links and was not much better than facebook.com on the m.facebook.com. But while using Hootsuite web app if we want to share a photo we can use Twitter account by selecting it. So, this apps seems to provide a better interacting with Facebook through other social networking site.

3. Pixelpipe – It is a powerful tool with which anything can be shared anywhere.

A Smart Solution for Android users:

For the time being, until we get a proper solution for managing Facebook pages on Android devices, a combination of Hootsuite and Pixelpipe can be used. Hootsuite for the interaction, comments and status updates and Pixelpipe for the media content.

Recent Update!!

Another important update is about the Seesmic for Android app which is new and improved with an option to upload video, facility to update, comment and share photos. It has power to manage all Facebook pages and to post photos along with updates. This tool can also be used as a temporary solution for smart interaction with Facebook on Android.
