What to do if encountered Encrypted files in my Lotus Notes?

Lotus Notes…

Encrypted Files. I have collected data from a few computers that are using Lotus Notes.

The NSF files are encrypted and I thought that it would be alright because I have the user IDs and their passwords.

But these databases are locked and I cannot turn of the encryption, and although I have access, I cannot modify the database.

Has anyone experienced this?

I will be feeding it to a processing cluster so I have to set worker boxes to utilize the original user ID file.

This means that the user IDs need to be reassigned in custodian inbox.

How do you move the encryption?

I cannot change the encryption settings.

How do I copy templates from the database to the new NSF file?

Can I stop the prompting of password when the user ID starts Lotus Notes?

Hello Jeaneth,

Your problem is most likely to database encryption.

With a noted ID or with separate encryption keys, you can encrypt documents in lotus notes.

To create encryption keys, follow the steps below:

  • See file from notes
  • Go to security
  • User security
  • Notes data
  • And then documents
  • To be able to encrypt documents go to database name
  • Choose document
  • Select file
  • And then document properties
  • And click security

The encrypted mail ensures that only the intended receiver can read or access the mail.

Someone may access it but he or she will not read it without the ID notes of the owner.
