Visual basic programming is a third generation programming and IDE (Integrated Development environment) from Microsoft for its COM programming. It is relatively easy to learn and use. This program runs on the .Net framework. By using this software you can create and run Windows applications, web applications and windows phone applications. The programs developed by visual basic will run only on Windows Operating System. Visual" refers to the method used to create what the user sees—the graphical user interface, or GUI. "Basic" refers to the BASIC (Beginners All-Purpose Symbolic Instruction Code) programming language, a language used by more programmers than any other language in the history of computing.
