Vegas Pro 9 failure to load after an upgrade

Hello Everyone,

I have been using Vegas Pro 9 without any glitches for some time now. Yesterday, I installed the 32bits Vegas pro 9d upgrade and the process completed smoothly. But, afterwards when I try to open the project I was working on, I get an error and the project fails to load. I rebooted my system and tried to open the project a couple of times and I always get this error. I tried opening some of the other existing projects and found that this happens with all of them. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is happening? I tried opening these projects on another system with Vegas Pro 9c installed and these projects open up fine. So the files are not corrupt. What could have been broken with this upgrade? Did anyone else face a similar problem? I am thinking of uninstalling this version of Vegas Pro and going back to Vegas 9c version. But I am curious to know what went wrong and how can this issue be fixed. All your ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Vegas Pro 9 failure to load after an upgrade

I don’t know what happened but supposedly any applications are backward compatible. Meaning, files created using a previous version of the same software can be opened. This is what’s being applied and being practiced by most applications such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, and others. Supposedly, if you are using a new version of the program, there shouldn’t be any problem opening a file created on a version before it.

And I’m sure it is the same with Sony Vegas Pro and with any other program. In your case, try reinstalling the program. Maybe it only needs to be refreshed. Uninstall Sony Vegas Pro then click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and select Disk Cleanup. Select drive C and click OK. Check “Temporary files” and click OK. Wait until it is finished and restart your computer.

Install Sony Vegas Pro and then run the Sony Vegas Pro 9.0d update. See if it works. For best results, upgrade to Sony Vegas Pro 12. It requires Windows Vista Service Pack 2, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 all 64-bit.
