Hi Pro,

I got this error message when I try to render V-Ray first time it warns me about a memory allocation failure. How do I rectify this error? Will the system upgrade help in avoiding this error? Do I need to increase the RAM? Does anyoneknow how to fix this problem? Please help. Thanks.

Hi James,

If you are running 64 bit, you shouldn't get out of memory errors like that and you should be running 64 bit max because 64 bit is required for 3D graphics. If you are running a 32 bit OS you can try the 3 gb switch. Dynamic memory limit shouldn't cause errors like that because it will just use a paging file instead. Though it is definitely a good idea to increase this. In the latest version of Vray, the default memory is 4 gb.
