Hello

I want to open someone's Outlook 2003/2007/2010 mailbox, but then I am getting the following error message: "Cannot open the Mailbox for this user because the user does not have a server mailbox".

The person has put the required authorizations for me but I could not open.

What can I do now?

Please help.

Thanks.

Hallo Clark,

To solve this problem, check the following

  • The other person is connecting to the same Exchange server as you. Some departments run separate servers, and permissions set for those servers do not carry over to the Virginia Tech Exchange Server.
  • The permissions are set correctly. For more information, refer to Sharing an Exchange Folder in Outlook 2003/2007/2010.

     Thank you

Hello!

There might be some problems on permission. You should set up the permissions correctly. You must confirm whether the permission provided is correct. If you cannot access, follow these instructions.

1. First, you have to start Outlook and then choose the open folder. For Outlook 2003/2007, you have to open from the file drop-down list and have to select Other User’s folder. For Outlook 2010, have to select File tab, select Open from the left menu column and then select the other user’s folder.
2. After which you have to click the Name button from the list, where the person’s list is given and then click ok.
3. From the drop down list, select the folder type you want to view and click ok.
