Is There Such Thing As a DC 12V PSU ???

Hi,

Is there an atx psu that has a 12volt DC input. I'm after something that has the normal connections like the molex, sata, 24 pin mother bored connection etc. For my atx PC.

The reason I need this is because i want to get a 12V car battery and have a solar panel to keep it charged and then run my computer off it, this way I would be able to run my PC for free and keep it on as long as I wanted (providing the solar panel is good enough).

I know I could just buy an inverter but they decrease efficiency and only work when the battery is almost at full charge and will refuse to work if the voltage is below 11. If there is something out there that could do this where would I buy one from?

Hallo Jersondelacruz,

For sure there is atx psu that has a 12volt DC input. It has the DC plug or connector which is an electrical connector whose function is to supply current directly, known as the direct current (DC). The direct connectors have not been standardized, as opposed to the domestic AC power plugs and sockets most which are standardized.

You can choose the dimensions and how the DC connectors are placed so that to be safe from any incident that might lead to interconnection of some incompatible sources and even loads.

So you can get yourself an atx psu that has 12 volt DC input for your car.
