Follow the steps given below to resolve the 3151 ODBC connection failed access error in MS Access –

a. Open Access.
b. Open the File menu.
c. Click on the Get external data.
d. Click on the Link tables options.
e. Select your ODBC database.
f. Click on the Machine Data Source option.
g. New option.
h. Select the System Data Source – > Next.
i. Click on the SQL Server option -> Next -> Finish.
j. Name your ODBC connection and SQL Server.
k. Click on next.
l. Tick the “With SQL Server authentication using a login id and password entered by the user” option -> Next.
m. Choose the appropriate database -> Next -> Finish.
n. Click OK until the SQL Server login page comes.
o. Enter the credentials of the SQL server database
p. Click OK.
