I am getting this error on my Canon printer. The error is stating, "Support Code: 300 The printer does not respond. Make sure that the printer is plugged in, powered-on, and properly connected to your computer." I don't know what the error means since it is connected properly and I don't see any reason why the error is appearing. Please help. Thanks.

This normally happens on Mac. Try any of the following solutions:

1. Go to the Apple Menu And launch the System Preferences and click Print & Fax.

2. From the Print & Fax window, Go to the Printer section, select your printer and highlight it. And then click the (-) sign to remove your printer and then click OK to confirm the deletion.

3. Re-add the printer again by clicking on the (+) sign.

4. Your computer will automatically scan for connected printers. Choose your printer and click the Add button.

5. For network printers, your printer must be highlighted from the Canon IJ Network dropdown list under the More Printers tab.

6. Your printer will be re-added again.

If you need to print something and that message appeared when you try to print, it means your computer cannot detect your printer. In this case, make sure the printer is connected to your computer using the USB cable. Also, check that it is connected to the power and it is turned on. You should see the LED power indicator activated.

If the printer is turned on and running but you cannot print or the computer cannot detect it, try transferring the USB cable to a different USB port and try printing again. See if it works. If this doesn’t work, try using a different cable. Before you can print, the computer has to detect the printer first.

But if the printer can’t be detected though the printer is already turned on and running there is something wrong with your cable. To verify if there is really something wrong with your printer, you need to use a cable from another printer that you know is working.

If the printer still doesn’t work on the new cable, you need to bring it to a service center for proper servicing.
