Hi all, I have more than one yahoo email id for different purposes. And I have a lot of e-mails associated with all these ids and these mails contain some very important files too. So is it possible if I want to have a backup of all these yahoo emails to some storage device like a hard drive or something like that? Any Solution? Thanks in advance!

You can back up all your Yahoo emails from your online Yahoo email account by downloading them onto your computer and then saving them from there onto a hard drive.  There is a program called Zimbra Desktop which you can download for free from here.

Follow these steps to be able to save your emails locally on your computer:

  1. Download the program
  2. Install the software by launching and running the installation wizard
  1. Read and accept the end-user license agreement
  1. Select the folder where you would like to install Zimbra Desktop program

Once Zimbra Desktop has been installed, follow the steps below to configure your Yahoo email account.

  1. Open the Zimbra Desktop program
  2. Click on “Add new account”
  3. An account list will open – select Yahoo
  4. Type in your Yahoo email account details
  5. Press “Validate” and “Save”
  6. Connect an external  hard drive or USB that you would like to save the emails on
  7. Click on Preferences>Import/Export (this appears at the bottom of your Yahoo account.)
  8. Click “All folders” next to the Source in the export section and then select the folder which holds the emails you want to copy onto your hard drive/USB
  9. Click “OK”
  10. Click the checkbox next to the “Advanced Settings”
  11. Click “Save File”
  12. Click “OK” and select the hard drive/USB as the destination for emails.

You can set up more than one of the same type account, so you can follow the steps above to configure all your Yahoo accounts.
