How can I get smooth and safety shutdown harddisk usb in Linux? Led continues to blink when I stop it, and when I unplug I get list of errors of kernel. What do I do wrong?

Hello.

In windows there is an option called safely remove hard drive which means when you click on that option, it automatically shuts down the device and it stops working.

I case of Linux when you try to safely remove usb hard drive it only shuts the file systems but not the device.

That is the reason you get error messages while you remove hard disk from your system and led continues to blink.

Thank you.
