Retain Connection Setting for ZEN router

Hi!  I need your help regarding my Internet Service Provider (ISP).  I recently changed to ZEN.  I am at a loss on deciding between the two choices.  One is, would it be possible for me to keep my existing connection settings if I keep my router?

Or if I get the router for ZEN, would my network name remain unchanged or should I have to enter new data?  Any help would be highly appreciated.

If router is replaced to Zen, all settings will be different. However, you can retain the settings on what you have previously and incorporate the configuration on the new Zen router.

What needs to be done is to reconfigure the router to the way you want. You can set-up the same network name and network key. You can either ran the CD installation or do it the manual way.

Router has CD that came with it, provided by the router manufacturer. This CD will guide you through the set-up to make use of this device. Ran the CD and set-up the network name exactly the way you want and also the network key.

When doing the installation, you'll get pass the page to where you will set-up all this information needed to connect to the Internet, wired and wireless.

Moreover, if you decide to enter new data, set-up new network name and password then its all up to you.

You just need to contact your Internet service provider if the router will be set to DHCP or PPPOE settings. This is important to make the modem and router communicates properly.

These are the options that will surely ask you during the installation. It'll ask you what type of Internet protocol your ISP used.

Once you select the correct option, modem and router will in sync and the router will broadcast wireless connection that is ready for Internet.
