A question about capacity planning model using Excel.

Good day Techyv,

How to improve my capacity planning model using Excel? I have been using my capacity planning model through Microsoft word but now that Microsoft Excel is more convenient to use, I would also love to try it. I tried to make a simple version of a capacity planning model but it seems like it’s too dry for my presentation so I decided to make any changes, the design was not appropriate. Can you suggest about the designing phase? If you know more about Excel then it would be a good start for a change. The topic was all about bridges and construction, can you give any suggestion? What would I do to make it more elegant to be viewed?

Thank you guys.

Todd,

Microsoft Excel is a great tool for planning and modeling purposes. Depending on your needs, you can create tables, pivots, models, etc, in Excel and change them easily if you know basic Excel functionalities. You can start by trying to look for templates online for capacity planning and see if anything matches your expectations. There are many good templates available on Microsoft Office Template site.

As an alternative, you can use these as examples or inspiration and try to create your own template.
