Problems in Video conversion format

I am facing a problem, and I am not sure whether it is the problem with real player or Windows. When I am using video capture and converting it to three other formats it is not working. I have re-installed the real player, but no use. When I am playing a video capture and error message comes up.

The video is not able to play without the updates.  It is not able to update with MS direct compatible MPG 2 decoding application.’ I am using Windows XP Home edition 2002 SP 3. All other videos are working properly. I have searched a lot in the website for a solution and just wasted lot of my times. But no solutions are found.

Please see the screen shot of the error message.

As you said that you have tried reinstalling the software but still the problem is same. This means that there is something wrong with your windows. Follow are few things that I need to tell you.

-The video codec that is required to decode and display the video might not be installed on your computer. Let’s say for example, if you are trying to play a file that was encoded using DivX video codec and you do not have that codec installed on your computer or PC, you will likely hear the audio portion of the file, but you won't see the video or can't even be able to play the video at all.

-Likewise, if you are trying to play a file that was encoded using the MPEG-2 video codec and you do not have a compatible MPEG-2 decoder installed on your computer, you may see an error message or encounter other playback problems as in your case.

-There is 1 possible solution to this. You have to try finding and downloading codecs that are required. See Codecs: frequently asked questions if you are still unclear. For more information about installing an MPEG-2 decoder on your PC, go to the DVD Decoder Plug-ins webpage.

Lastly, I want to suggest something apart from the question. If you want to capture any video then use Fraps. Download it from the internet; it is the most reliable software out there. After that, you can use the Camtasia too.
