Problem with my old laptop

I have an old laptop which I recently bought from my old friend for a very cheap price. My purpose for buying this is for typing use only. The laptop is running Windows 98. My problem is how to print the document I made using Office 2000. In order to use the printer, of course you must also install its driver. But the CD-ROM is busted. I tried to use a USB wherein I copied the driver to it but the USB was not recognized by the computer, you must also install the driver for the USB since it is running Windows 98. What other alternatives that can be use for this?

No doubt that old is gold and a very smart decision of yours to switch to old laptop for typing. Actually the USB you might be running on it may be of 2.0 version which is much faster and designed for latest technology so to copy data on your laptop you might find USB under 2.0 and of small capacity, usually flash drives of 1GB will definitely do your job. But be very careful of the viruses because these type of windows doesn't have advanced firewall protection at all and the next you'll notice that will be a lazy laptop which cant even type properly. Once you have install particular antivirus in it ,hook up to the internet via that laptop and find Automatic driver installer in Google ,its a totally free program ,once downloaded it will detect and automatically download all the drivers then probably you wont need a USB anymore but i will recommend you keeping in mind of viruses that you should go for a USB drive copy driver in it ,get in searched by some antivirus on another computer then install it in your laptop..

You can use a net connection for your purpose or you can even use some wireless communication for this purpose. It is really easy to download USB drives for your device also. You can go to device management and then from there you can install your desired drivers and it will solve your problem.

If you have a internet access then you can simply send the document to other computer and then print or you can share a printer as well. It is easy to share a printer also. If you have not network connectivity then you can use a infrared or blue tooth to transfer a file to your printer and if your printer supports infrared or Bluetooth then it is more easy task to have the printout through a Bluetooth or infrared. I think it will help you to solve your problem.
