Hi experts!

In previous Windows version of Audacity, I have formed/ edited two Audacity files. I want to transfer them as MP3 format, but I cannot open them in the Mac version 1.2.5. But I am getting the following error:

"Can't open file 'filename' (error 2: No such file or directory).

Need your help to solve this. Thanks.

If you can not open the files in the Mac version of Audacity, maybe there is something wrong with the saved file. Maybe the file got corrupted after saving it.

Be sure when opening the files in the Mac version of Audacity that you select the exact file. When saving the files using the Windows version, don’t change or don’t specify other extension name beside the default extension name used by the application.

It’s possible that the Mac version can’t recognize any of the files because their extension names are not supported. Audacity only supports ogg, aiff, mp3, and wav file types.

Other file types even if they are audio files still can’t be opened by this software because they are not supported. Check the file type before opening it in the Mac version.

Or when opening any of the files in the Mac version, avoid typing the complete URL of the file, instead browse directly to the file and select it manually to open.
