Hi! I'm looking for new video card for gaming mostly and I need your opinion in which one is better. The choice stands between 2: ASUS GeForce GTX 560 925Mhz PCI-E 2.0 1024Mb 4200Mhz 256 bit 2xDVI Mini-HDMI HDCP or PowerColor Radeon HD 7790 1030Mhz PCI-E 3.0 1024Mb 6000Mhz 128 bit 2xDVI HDMI HDCP V2. Please also tell me why do you think each one is better.
Please help to choose which video card is better
Unfortunately, it's hard to know which one is better based on your current information. I would need to know what types of games you are planning on using the video card for and such. However, between my husband (who is a gamer and knows about video cards very well) and my research, we have found the following:
1. The GeForce card contains a nVdia chip. Some games work better with it than others. It also has slower memory than the Radeon, but has faster throughput. (Throughput, if you don't know, is the amount of work a computer can do within a given time period). It will also generally perform better than the Radeon.
2. The Radeon card contains an ATI chip, which works better with other games. It has a faster memory than the GeForce, as well as faster GPU.
If you compare them at various benchmark sites, they're very similar. One example is this: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/video_lookup.php?gpu=GeForce+GTX+560
So, again, it depends on what you want to do and what kinds of games you want to play.
