Maybe a hard reset will fix your handset’s problem. Doing a hard reset on a phone will delete everything on the device. All data will be deleted and be formatted and the preferences as well as other settings will be restored to their default factory settings. So be cautious, don’t do a hard reset unless you already backed up your phone’s entire data. There are several ways of doing the hard reset on different devices and this one is done using Palm Treo 755p and 700p.

Disconnect all cables attached to the handset like the AC charger and the USB cable because any of these will prevent the handset from doing hard reset. Turn off the phone, open the back cover, and then take off the battery. Next, press and hold the Power/End button while re-attaching the battery. Release the button when the Access Powered logo appears on the screen. When you see the message “Erase all data?” appear on the screen, press Up button to confirm the hard reset. After that, select your preferred language when you are prompted to select a language.
