Good day,

Having some doubts, which I'm sure you can clear.

Can OpenOffice or LibreOffice format quotation marks at the beginning of a paragraph correctly? Is Microsoft Word capable of importing Math Markup Language (MML)?

Who are Microsoft Office’s top competitors and why is it that it has been at the top for a while?

Thanks

Hi,

Let’s try to respond to your queries one by one.

The first question is: Can OpenOffice or LibreOffice format quotation marks at the beginning of a paragraph correctly?

To place a quotation mark in the beginning of paragraph or rather at the beginning of any line in open office or LibreOffice, you have to place a space after the quotation mark, and that is the only way to do it properly. (Annoying for the programmers).

The second question: Is Microsoft Word capable of importing Math Markup Language (MML)?

No, MS Word cannot directly import the Math Markup language, for this purpose you have to use some other utility/ word processor like Latex, AbiWord etc. Just Google the names and you will get lots of these utilities, but in our opinion these two are the better options.

The third question: Who are Microsoft Office’s top competitors and why is it that it has been at the top for a while?

Well till date the top most competitors for MS Office have been Google (Google doc). Just to counter the Google effect Microsoft had to launch its office365. This application runs as a service, and on the face it seems that Microsoft have the edge over Google.
