Northwind Sample Database is Not Working

I recently installed Microsoft Access on my computer device. I want to download Northwind Sample Database so I do not have to create one for myself since it is readily available and I do not need an installer to be able to use it. But for some unknown reason the program is not working. I do not know if the problem is with the installation or the program itself. I hope somebody can help me.

Northwind Sample Database is Not Working

Hi Aldiaz,

It is very simple problem. But you do not refer about the Access you used. The 2003 package, the 2007 package. There also new upgrade version available on the used Access.

However, you may have Internet Connection problem. Or your version already found some component on the serving naturally. You can check on the recent upgrade apps in the control panel. You must remove it from your system.

If you can use new one for downloading, the necessary accessories can perform better. So take 07, or 2010 package for Access. Because there are lots of new format accessories you can run easily.

Northwind Sample Database is Not Working

The following are the steps that will help you work with the northwind sample database:

1. First, you will need to start the Microsoft Access program.
2. And then navigate to the Help menu, and from there you will need to choose Sample Databases followed by the Northwind Sample Database.
3. Since you have already installed the Northwind application, then it will open immediately. In case you are using the application for the first time, then you will need to follow the processes as the application will walk you through them.
4. When you are prompted to insert the Microsoft Office CD(s) requested by the installation process, then you will need to do so.
5. In case you will need to install the Northwind sample Access project, then you will have to do that by simply choosing "Northwind Sample Access Project" which you will find in the Help -> Sample Databases menu and then follow the steps.

Northwind Sample Database is Not Working

Hi Clair, I have followed the steps 1 to 5 you gave. and yes the program is working now. I did reinstallation also to be sure.
