Hello,

Even I have a camera connected to my PC which is working OK it seems like Camtasia cannot detect it. I have selected my webcam in the Camtasia settings and it doesn’t work. Can anyone help me please with my webcam ? Is there a problem with Camtasia or my webcam ?

Thank you !

If this is the first time that this happens, close Camtasia Studio then restart your computer. Open Camtasia Studio and try it again. See if it works. If it is still the same, check if your camera is really working. Start the software for your camera and see if you can get an image. Try also if you can create a short recording using the camera software and then preview the video afterwards.

If this is successful then there is nothing wrong with your device. Try updating your camera’s driver. Maybe Camtasia Studio requires a much recent version of your device’s driver. See if this fixes the problem. If still it doesn’t work, try running it as administrator. Right-click on Camtasia Studio and select Properties. Select Compatibility tab then check “Run this program as an administrator” then click OK.

Start the application again and see if it works. If nothing worked, maybe there is something wrong with the file name you used. If you added an exclamation point [!] anywhere in your file name then this is the reason why it is happening. When you import a camrec file in Camtasia Studio that includes an exclamation point in the file name, checking the properties will show the “no camera stream detected” error.

To fix the problem, you need to delete the exclamation point [!] in the file name and it should fix it.
