Hello Mr. Anil,

Using Linux machine as a server is a good option instead of Windows. But client machine mostly needs Windows. That’s why you need to raise this question. The best option which is also less time consuming option in this regard is, to install some remote configuration utility and I would suggest you “rdesktop” in this regard.

It will provide you the option to access desktop of any Windows machine you need and are allowed to access. Once you accessed the Windows machine do whatever you want with files and folders inside. It’s a free ware and only needs Linux kernel version 3.1 or above.

Don’t forget to enable remote desktop in Windows machine through My Computer->Properties click “Remote” tab and click the check box “Allow users to connect remotely to this computer”.
