Quicktime Error: A network error has occurred

Hi,

Last night, I wanted to use QuickTime to view some videos, a weird error occurred that said, "This computer’s Internet connection appears to be online". I pasted the screen shot below.

This computer Internet connected appears to be online

A network error has occurred

This computer's Internet connected appears to be

online. (-66559)

                         Network Diagnostics                     OK

The error message sounds weird. It seems that the computer is complaining that my internet is ok. With much frustration with QuickTime I removed it, and reinstalled it. When I tried to view the video again, the same weird error message appeared on my screen.

I restarted my computer and tried the same process, but still the error is there. I am now asking for some help, for those who have tried this error. Please share some ideas on solving this issue.

Thanks.

Dear, this is a problem that is occurring in the QuickTime player. Try to update your quick player to a brand new version. This problem is not in the new version of QuickTime player. Furthermore, if you want the same player then you should try disconnecting the internet for some time and later on you should try again. Then again open the internet connection.

ALSO TRY TO check your firewall or QuickTime settings, which may have some problem, may be also in the settings. If you find any, you should correct it.

Hope your matter will be solved using this technique.

Hi Johnegry,

The problem your player is facing is most probably due to an error in the network connection. You need to check the network settings. By this you go to the advanced network settings and change the settings.

Go the preferences and click advanced. The advanced settings should show the sync settings where you need to change. Another rectification issue is that you need to go to C:Program filesQuickTimesettings.

After that open settings and change the settings of connection which might be faulty.

You may also need to disable the firewall mostly if its a software firewall.

Restart the player and try streaming the file again. This should be able to solve the issue. If it doesn't uninstall and download another instance or a later version.

Thanks
