If your laptop’s camera stopped working after changing or upgrading the operating system, you simply need to update the camera’s driver. That problem happens because the existing driver or the driver for the camera that came with your laptop is not compatible with the new operating system, Microsoft Windows 8. An update to the driver should fix the problem.

If your laptop came with a CD that contains different drivers, check if there’s a driver for the camera that works with Windows 8.
