Hello Everyone,

The error message “Maximum number of fonts exceeded” appears whenever I am trying to open the generated Excel file in Excel 2007. I have generated reports from jasper report and then export it to excel format. Can somebody guide me to the reasons for that error message and how to fix it?

Thank you in Advance.

MS Excel has a limitation on the number of formats allowed (It depends on the version). So if you can clean up the formats and reduced the number of various fonts used in the document you should be able to avoid that message.

And also if you have a lot of charts in the workbook, make sure they do not have their fonts set to auto scale as that can cause this problem. Custom styles are another thing that is delivering that message to you. So keep your document with less number of formatting styles and less numbers of fonts.
