Hi expert, I am using fedora 5 ISO on my laptop. I tried several times to open the rar file. Unfortunately I couldn’t open it. My friend told me the linux rar part incomplete. So that’s why I couldn’t open it. Please tell me how to resolve this problem. Thank you.

Hi there Michael B Rodgers,

The easiest way to fix incomplete RAR file is via WinRAR. If you don't have it already, you can find it at: www.rarlab.com/download.htm. Just make sure to download the right version, suitable for your OS.

Once your WinRAR is installed, use it to extract files from the problematic RAR package. It will give you an error with the name of the file that is causing issues. After getting an error, press ALT – R on your keyboard. This action will open the Repair Prompt, a small utility built in in the WinRAR. When asked, click RAR and confirm with OK.

Please, note that no one can guarantee that you will be able to repair the broken file, so it may be a better choice to redownload it.

Best regards,
Drake Vivian
