I cannot turn my iPhone 5 to Landscape Mode so I can view pictures and videos better. The down button is also not working and when I take a shot with my iPhone's camera and sync it to my computer, the pictures turned upside down. I am running a Windows-based PC. How can I fix the settings so the issue will be corrected?

Hi Willis, due to recent upgrade from iOS7 to iOS8 this is one of the biggest issues encountered so far due to kernel inconsistencies. Sometimes its stuck in portrait, sometimes in landscape mode. As of present moment, there is still no hot fix for this glitch, only a temporary solution. You just simply lock the orientation of the phone to landscape mode and vice versa. To lock in landscape mode, pull up your Control Center from below your phone. Then take a look for the lock just in the top right corner and tap it. This simple but temporary solution will just lock it up so that it won’t revert back to portrait mode if the phone change its orientation.

If you have an iPhone and you are always stuck in the orientation of the device when viewing something, you just need to toggle the Orientation Lock to on and off. To toggle the lock, in iOS 6 and earlier, tap the Home button twice to bring up the multi-tasking bar. Next, scroll down to the left until you see the Orientation Lock button.

Tap the lock to toggle it on or off then go back to the app where the orientation got stuck then try rotating the screen to the desired orientation again. For iOS 7 and newer, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to bring up the Control Center. Tap the Orientation Lock button on the upper right corner of the screen to toggle between on and off.

If this doesn’t work and the app is just stuck, just restart the app. Close the app then open it again.
