Internet Explorer error while accessing a few links

When I attempt to access a few web links with IE 6 it comes up with an error message “An error has occurred in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer will now close.  If you continue to experience problems, please restart your computer “

Platform: Windows XP Prof SP 2, IE Version: 6.0.2800.1106:  Update: SP 1

The error still exists even after restarting the computer several times.

It happens with sporadic websites and does not stick to certain ones. I see that it happens with mostly the software download sites. I have restarted the machine several times and still get the same error message.

Any suggestions?

HI,

First you check is there any virus from any site which cause this problem and check your internet explorer in safe mode of windows. if the problem is still there then do the following method to fix the error

Get Isp-fix from internet and launch the application into your system. Exit all other applications before launching this application then check all instances of lspak.dll move them to the "Remove" pane.

Then click Finish.

Restart in Safe Mode, and delete

The c:windowssystem32lspak.dll file

After that boot back to normal mode and install spybot and scan your computer and internet explorer. When scanning is completed, mark everything and delete it. And then reboot,

Hope this will fix your problem

Try to reset the Internet Explorer settings by following the steps below:

1. Close all the programs and IE.

2. For Windows XP:

Click Start> Run and then type inetcpl.cpl on the search box.

For Windows 7 and Windows Vista:

Click Start and then type inetcpl.cpl on the search box and then press the Enter key.

It will launch the Internet Options dialog box. Under the Advanced tab> Reset Internet Explorer Settings, click Reset and then hit the Reset again. Tick the Delete Personal Settings check box if you want to remove the entire settings.
