I now know that SEO and back links are two of the most important things that we need to know in order to get decent traffic for your blog. Most of experienced bloggers also say that keyword is also a must. I don't have any idea about this. It's still not clear to me why keyword is important for your blog. Can someone enlighten me about  this? Thank you very much

Keywords can be used to get decent traffic to your blog, but they can be also having the disadvantage of breaking your site. The keywords can easily make the distinction between a blog that has no traffic or less traffic and another one that enjoys heavy traffic like on daily basis.

In case you are not using keywords in the proper way on your blog, then you can sure that are going to have problems attracting traffic. What that means is that it will be difficult for you to convert visitors to your site into regular readers. So you need to get the right strategy to keep the visitors to your site, and some of then you can read about here: strategies for attracting visitors to a blog.
