Images converts to text files via FTP/Web ControlPanel transfer

Hi TechV,
How do you explain what happens whenever I upload a JPG file to my website control panel, it converts into a .txt or TEXT file? Due to this, the file becomes useless and thus can’t be viewed as an image. I’ve searched for several remedies including making sure that my binary transfer options/converter settings are in place–that is not the issue; my server is doing okay as well. I just want to know the detailed technical reasons why the file converts by itself.

Hi!

Your question is very important to all. I have just researched and got the perfect solutions.

I am giving the way of remedy .

Firstly you have to write in a text file

<img src=”image_name.jpg” />

Save the text file and image in same location in your host.

Then link the text file with the main file.

Then you will see the image will show rather than a text file.

Thanks

I also upload my site’s contents using the control panel but that odd problem doesn’t happen. One solution if you are just uploading one file is to simply rename it back to “JPG”. This is the easiest workaround if you are uploading few files. But if the files are too many, try uploading them via FTP instead of doing it from the control panel.

Another way that might prevent the renaming of the file is to set the attribute of the file to “read-only”. This way, any modification to the file is blocked. You should also check if your control panel has an option that automatically renames files to TXT format. If there is an option, disable it before uploading any files.

If there is no such option, you probably need to ask support from your hosting provider regarding the problem because it’s their system and you have no control over it.
