IE 9 is not showing in Program list

My Dell PC comes with Core i5 processor, 2 GB DDR3 RAM and Seagate HDD. I have upgraded the Internet Explorer 8 which has come with the PC to Internet Explorer 9.

When I am left-clicking on the ‘Windows’ button, the Internet Explorer displays in the abbreviated application list. But when I click on ‘All Programs’, it is not showing there. The Java is also getting a series of crashing and I don’t know why this is happening. Please help me to get out of this problem.

IE 9 is not showing in Program list

Hello,

You are not able to see IE icon in All programs menu because the shortcut is not there.

To place a shortcut in the All programs menu do the following:

1. First go My Computer. Go through C:Program FilesInternet Explorer.

2. In the Internet Explorer folder you can find a file named “iexplore”.

3. Right click on it and select Copy.

4. Then go to C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuPrograms.

5. In the Programs folder right click and Paste shortcut.

Now you can find the IE icon in All programs menu. You can update Java software too.

Then it wouldn’t crash.

Hello Danica,

Are you able to run the Internet Explorer application though you cannot see it in the control panel? If you cannot then I will suggest that you do the following to resolve that issue:

• You will need to go to C:Program Files on your computer and then look for the Internet Explorer folder.
• Delete that folder and all its contents.
• After that, you will need to download the latest version of internet explorer from the internet.
• You can go ahead and install Internet Explorer after the download is through.
• Check the control panel to see if it can be seen there.
