IBM World Community Grid Platform for Supercomputing

World community grid is one of the innovative intiatives of IBM. 
It was started in 2004. It provides help to the scientists who
are unable to effort best computing facilities for their 
research. One more interesting feature of the project is, it is
mainly used for humanitarian purposes.So far 19 fascinating 
researches have been done on various aspects like HIV, cancer, Ebola,
etc., The notable projects are GO Fight Against Malaria, Clean
Energy Project, FightAIDS@Home etc.,
Regarding it's computational abilities, it is one of
the top 15 fastest machines. It has been integrated with more 
than 1.9 million spare computing power. 
  More than 0.5 million users are registered with this 
facility and approximately 65,000 members use it frequently.
