Hi guys,

I need to make a 3d fish for my daughter homework. Please tell me how to make a 3d fish model and what graphic soft can help me to do this.

Hi,

Ok I will tell you how to do this. You need Photoshop or CorelDraw to design fish outline. You can also do this using MS Paint. First find a photo which is a profile of a fish. This can be right profile or left profile of a fish.

Then load it to any graphic application. (Photoshop or Paint).

Now you have to create two plane objects. One is a left side of a fish other one is a right side of a fish. Make sure both object should be the same size. Then add profiles in to the object and shape the object like a fish. After that you have to get a print out of these objects.

Get a cardboard and draw the outline of the fish. Outline should be same as the object shape. Then paste the print out on the cardboard. Design the fish using a scissor.

Now you have both sides of the fish. (Left side and right side). Attach both sides and you have to free a space between sides. So you can add any crumbled pieces of papers in to the middle of the fish.

Most fishes are widest middle section and more tiny at the head and tail. So you need to design like that. That’s all. I hope this will lead you to create a beautiful fish model.

There are plenty of ways to make a 3D fish model. There are many Websites from there you can directly download the 3D fish models without even making by yourself. You don't even need a software to make it. Here are the following ways you can have the 3D fish models.

1- The easiest way of all is to directly download a 3D model from a website. It will save your time, energy and efforts. Here is the link: https://free3d.com/3d-models/fish

2- To make your own design, you need to download Photoshop CS5 Extended version. This version lets you to draw the solid 3D objects like fish, airplanes, cartoons characters etc . The feature is known as Repousse.

3- To do that open Photoshop -> New -> My 3D -> Choose dimensions -> Ok

4- Select -> New layer -> select double picker -> Choose color -> Ok

5- Select -> Pencil Tool to draw the design 

6- To add 3D effects go to Layer 1 -> Layer style window -> Drop shadow.

7- Add more effects to transform it into more 3D look and save your drawing.

This will be seen as 3D picture
