Electric motor bikes are very efficient in terms of energy. How long you can go depends on a number of factors such as steepness of the hills, the degree of headwinds, how well your tires are inflated, the air temperature etc. In average 30-40 KM you can go on a flat route with gentle paddling.

Sealed Lead acid battery, Nickel cadmium, Nickel metal hydride and Lithium based batteries are available in the market.
These can be charged by using electricity, solar panel or with the help of wind generators. Usually it will take 4 to 8 hours to charge these batteries.
According to the rate of the battery, we can understand the quality of it. As the price rises, the quality will also rise. Approximately, all charged batteries will work for a range of 200 to 300 miles.
