My operating system is windows 7. I installed mozilla to my computer. But whenever I am trying to run it, it is asking for the administrator password. At present I use chrome where I haven't faced any problem like this. Please tell me how to find the administrator password of mozilla.

Hello David,

That is a bit strange because I use Mozilla Firefox on my computer and I have never encountered such an issue. And since Firefox is a freeware application you won't say that it needs some activation keys or something like that. I suspect the issue that you are getting could be as a result of the following:

  • The setup that you used to install Firefox may be the one having issues. You will need to verify that you downloaded from a trusted site. As for Firefox, I will recommend that you just get it from the Mozilla Firefox site to be sure that you are running a genuine application.
  • Also try restarting the computer and then log in as the administrator and see if that will resolve the issue.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Carl

Hi.

Maybe the one you are talking about administrator password is the master password. Master password is use to protect email passwords that you want to save to browser. If you use this one you will be prompt to enter master password to save passwords. If you want to reset that just copy this code and paste to your url chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xul

After pasting it then press enter. You will see message that if you are going to reset the password saved password will be erase because that is the part of firefox security that if somebody reset the master password it will erase all password saved to your browser. Just click reset if you don’t bother anything saved password.

Hope this helped.
