How to open .docx file?

Good day everyone!

Opening an attachment is sometimes very tricky especially when you have some crucial piece of information waiting to be discovered in your mail.

Google provides versatile features for the users of older versions of MS Office. It provides support to open and edit files made in previous versions of Word or Excel. To open a docx file from Gmail option select open as a Google doc.

You can also open that file by opening the MS Word and from the file menu select open and then at the bottom of the dialog box where it asks about the file type to open select recover text from any file and your file be extracted to the MS Word application.

Hope it fulfills your need.

How to open .docx file?

Mahd Tony,

Your .docx is the default extension for documents created by MS Word 2007. Try opening these files using Open Office as well, These apps can be downloaded and are free as well.

If you are still not able to open the document file after utilizing these two applications, the file might have errors or the upload is deemed unreadable.

How to open .docx file?

Your .docx is the default extension of Microsoft Word beginning with Microsoft Word 2007.

Here are a couple of ways you can open a .docx file:

1. Install the compatibility pack from Microsoft which adds .docx support to Office versions before Office 2007.

2. Use free online services to convert docx to doc.

3. Download and install Microsoft Word Reader.

Word Viewer lets you open all documents made from Microsoft Word.  However, you cannot edit the file.

4. Download and install Libre Office.

5. Have a friend with Office 2007 or later open the file for you and ask him to Save it as a .doc file.

Hope this helps.
